# Learning to love

Restored from Instagram stories · 18 October 2025

learn to love. first, yourself and next, others the way how you’d love yourself.

learning to love is one of the most difficult things that men could ever do. i actually rank them the highest. because we’re all blessed with the capability of short spurts of love but not the one which longs last. so if you master it, you’d be undefeated.

few verses i like from the bible if you care anyway.

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.”

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”

“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”

they’re all from the first book of corinthians chapter 12 verses 1 to 3.

so - back to why love is the best? because it’s a double edged sword which you should grow to like.

you love yourself and you love others the same way you’d love yourself or you’d like to be treated? grows empathy and you’d have a good measure on how to treat others.

you love yourself and you see what you should do to prevent the people whom you love from being hurt?

you’ll establish deterrence through a mode of violence that can only be seen as passion towards that, a revenge which destroys everything - making everyone fear you, loathe you and also those who love you, love you truly.

it’s a curse. but it is what builds civilizations.

now that you know that loving yourself will help understand how those mood swings hurt you or the people near you, you’ll move towards change.

almost every single thing you do to hurt people can be sorted out if you acknowledge it, and come up with a plan to fix it.

you’re not a robot to switch things in an instant. make them and yourself understand that. recognize the error and change it consciously. one at a time.
