# The social psychology behind a political message

Restored from Instagram stories · 2 October 2021

The right wing figured out that the best way to reach the masses and the culture which is by default 'kalachaara kannis' is to invoke the parental sentiments of what can happen to their son/daughter.

villified mobile games by casually inserting a scene that drugs are smuggled by conversing through PUBG. Casually inserted religious scenes. They villified personal choice and individual freedom. Even though changing your beliefs doesn't change the societal injustice you had as a caste, they played right into the fact that if you take baptism and embrace Christianity, you have to take the sacrifice of leaving your past identity.

But societal inequality prevents that - they played right into that. They haven't explained how changing your beliefs changes your social structure. The truth is, it doesn't.

And the left doesn't know a thing about not making these movies a hit. Constantly attacking someone and giving media attention either negative/positive is only going to make it well known.

If they were really brilliant, they wouldn't even have entertained Mohan G on any platform. You constantly attacking them is only going to gather them supporters who didn't even know Mohan G. Not giving them any attention wouldn't have resulted in its popularity.

Either Mohan G is brilliant or the Left/media is really dumb.

So how do you prevent such things in the future ?

Remember the rules of social psychology. Most people don't have firm beliefs of their own. When their internal doubts are questioned and if it's socially validated they'll start believing that. So any person who comes up with an idealogy needs only one thing. They need that to be spread fast.

The only way how it spreads is by social media and the modern internet/TV.

Left Journos/Media's thought they can trap Mohan G and constantly asked questions where he used the Law of Power - the art of negotiation to flip it right back. He actually reached more and more people.

Not a single media who supported the left should have covered. Includes digital channels. No one should have shared or even attacked. No court case. Nothing. No one should have talked. Post theatre releases are closed you could have voiced out. The media's could have extensively covered about other movies that were released the same day.

But you know what ? This won't happen.

These media's need clickable content that are controversies that will generate them money and they aren't concerned about their ideologies or what will happen in the long term. And Mohan G's film falls right into that. The interviewer might seem not against it. But the channel needs these views desperately. So much for their ideals.

And the right will encourage more Film makers to do things like these often. Will put a case against their own for publicity. More movies. More publicity. More polarization. You know who wins finally in tamilnadu ?

BJP. Enjoy
