the biggest performative ironical activism is protesting against data centers by making viral videos on an application which uses multiple data centers and your virality simply increases the load. (which you’re complaining against)
the icing on the cake? your entire livelihood depends on your internet make believe content creation.
want to truly protest against it? instead of blocking me, nuke your social media and every internet applications and get back to whatever third world stuff you’re good at doing.
flash news: agri and every major industry consumes more water than a data center.
it’s so silly that startup and tech communities still entertain people who do this shit.
do data centres consume that much water? nope. modern designs don’t.
i’ve previously talked about it.
but does it mean you need to have data centres in a place which is already suffering from drought? nope. that’s stupid.
the place it is in, the design - all matters.
everything consumes resources. water isn’t a scarce resource in general. we’ve mastered a lot of tech in making use of the single most abundant resource in planet earth. we’ll continue to develop and there’s no end to it.
focus on the trouble you’ve now. instead of parroting first world’s performative environmental activism. their newest shtick is datacenter since ai is the trend now.
focus on making money for moving your family to the next economical level.
your only focus should be that!
