this guy's team of engineers - won IOI, ICPC WF
now, i will tell you what he and his engineers did.
these engineers will go on to work in the top MAANG companies and the startups.
do you think indian tech Devs can match what these engineers are doing ?
nope.
[a qualification: selected competition winners cannot represent all engineers in one country, just as a few weak examples cannot represent an entire service industry. the useful distinction is between skills and opportunities, not national ability.]
and do you know how many % of these engineers are of asian/indian descent ?
most of them.
now imagine the amount of actual tech revolution Indian Devs need.
there's something called the PAN IIT organization in US.
they represent more than 50k IIT grads in the united states of america
imagine them uplifting american tech scene while Indian tech is at shambles.
all i see is indian virgin devs scurrying their lives around in consultant IT companies calling them as software companies.
these indian devs think that their 10 year experience commands them great salary.
then they go to a product company - an actual valley based startup.
figure out that the comp. that they are getting is inflated only because they are a billable resource and is not relevant to their actual skills.
they go to a small product startup and figure out that a guy coding there for 2 years is whooping their ass black and blue.
that's the state of the indian Devs we have here.
we need to bring the Chads here.
now you understand when I say Indian tech companies are shit.
we need to recognise more and more companies building and BREAKING things than bangalore or Chennai in South India
so indians excel in the art of jugaad/or cracking whatever that's given to them..
entrance tests ? crack it.
everything? crack it.
i recently saw an engineer who was posting the t-shirts she got from a big institution for making the most commits.
do you know what most of the commits were ?
yeah. you guessed it right. shit commits. small small stuff. typo mistakes.
(for those virgins who jump immediately stating that it's because she's a woman, no. vast majority of indian devs and engineers do the practice of 'cracking' something to achieve results)
i know most school teachers who teaching coding to CS stream kids being absolute bummers who don't know shit about anything.
they follow text book teaching of coding.
money is fine. the IT industry in south India made a lot of people move their economic status from poor to middle class within 5-6 years.
so,
starting your career in a service company is absolutely fine.
but keep upskilling yourselves and learn real engineering. practice leet coding.
learn programming concepts.
go back to sixth grade math books. start reading them. no shame. practice problems.
you'll love math now and would probably understand that even more.
start a math tutoring on the side or teach a kid who wants to learn math. you'll learn math more.
go to UG level math from there.
math is super important. remember that.
