continuing my analysis on the growth of right wing in tamilnadu and in the south which i wrote over three years ago.
i talked about the impact of it through films.
i didn’t expect the growth to be at this level so i’d have to correct my analysis.
people have lesser hate for bjp/right wing politics than before. they’re all one event away from shifting to centre right politically.
translate it to whatever core political thought bjp has.
what did i find funny? they acknowledge that they hate modi, but wit hate its future leaders. if bjp continues to soften its stand and take a more moderate approach, they’ll shift the overton window.
the next generation doesn’t have your same political knowledge as you have.
they’ve their own problems and this doesn’t even bother them. their selection of political candidacy would revolve around who solves their problems.
expect a sharp overton shift in the next 15 years.
the only thing that can save the left is to shun the extremists from their ranks and to go closer to the centre (to align with the overton window shift) and continue to press about the current problems that their immediate locality has.
the right has it easy to win. anti incumbency always has it easy. you’ve to prove why you’ll keep being better. they only have to show that you’ve failed.
