we conducted our second math test early this week. the stats here.

09 passed level 01
only 01 passed level 02 by scoring 70%
the required pass % for level 02 is 60/100. she attended only 08 questions, solved 07 successfully.
and she isn't even a math grad. she's a CS grad.
bet, how many intelligent programmers we'd miss - without actually training them to be programmers!
not just our edu system, our service based IT industry which treats engineers as billable and non billable resource damage the quality of engineers in enormous proportions.
let me expand on this trickle effect.
most of us believe our engineering education quality is down. nope. the IT companies are to blame. you all have it wrong.
most of you who work in IT companies would never do actually programming nor actual development. nothing meaningful at scale.
still you'd be paid a big amount. 20 LPA isn't something that's extraordinary.
when the minimum billing amount of a fresher for an IT company to any other company is $20/hr multiplied by 40 hrs a week, it's $800/week of income. for a month, a fresher is worth $3200.
ofcourse they can afford to pay you 4 LPA
if this goes to the top, your $/he goes up exponentially while you max earn 20-50 LPA on average. still low.
you still won't learn or build products.
follow gantt charts, morning and evening standups, finish sprint, sit for endless meetings circle - jerking to everyone, pacifying your manager and TL, sorting out office politics and countless front and back emails
by the time you're half way through the above the day already ends.
this is our IT industry.
that's all.
now you wonder why none of our tech companies have any asset of their own.
the only startup tech stack they know? MERN stack. foooking imbeciles.
when's the last time they built their own algorithm? nope. good with actual programming concepts? nope.
when have they focussed on actual engineering to build products? nope na-da znip.
that's why our startup companies are worth literally zero when they go under. nothing under the hood. nothing that another company can buy and absorb.
to land on these startups and companies,
other edtech startups like bolar academies emerge. they teach you freaking mern stack and place you in partnering companies.
it's a cycle.
really good engineers are never found. even if they are really good, they'll be dumbed down to not pursue what they are actually good at.
either office politics will stop that or the mandated tech stack will stop that.
result? we as a country have been reduced have to stupid resources who are either billable or non-billabke. not a single dev. not a single programmer. not a single engineer.
resource. understand? resource.
they are a RESOURCE.
regardless of my rant:
these IT companies were single handedly responsible for many people to secure their first job for the first graduate from extremely rural places,
elevating their social status from poor to upper middle class within a decade.
no other job did that.
let's be forever grateful to that.
still, I'd say - grab the opportunity. no other type of companies provided mass employment and paid high salaries like IT companies.
if you are a first time grad in your family, the sole breadwinner, focus on getting campus placed.
it's a high signal.
don't pursue startups. don't pursue your dream..your dream is worth nothing without money and your family suffering.
get them out of this endless pit and then work on your passion when you are old.
