Skills, fitness and the comparison trap

Restored from Instagram posts ·

each human body is unique. the body type differs from one demographic to another and vastly varies depending on environmental factors - based where the person lives.

if you take that, india doesn't even have the same demographic. different environment.

contrary to what most fitness people talk in the internet, the fitness industry isn't that big like what you think.

roughly 0.2-0.3% of Indians have a gym membership. you reduce that to active fitness freaks, the number is SUPER LOW.

so there's no research which says in India - hey this works, that works. meh.

whatever works. for some, cardio reduces. for some, weight training does. for most? sticking to the cardinal truth of maintaining caloric deficit works.

plus, don't believe social media in instagram where everyone is fit or where everyone is a fitness influencer. read my stats again. the average number of people who have a gym membership is very low.

tbh, we aren't even in the starting stages of fitness revolution in India.

even before that, fitness is expensive.

and still a lucrative business in tier-1 cities. an average gym membership like cult fit would set you back by around 25-30k INR for an entire year.

the fitness revolution will not expand until people have disposable income and we are far from that.

if we're gonna talk stats, i can add a lot.

for example, we are having a little to more than 1:1 ratio in both of girls and boys in TN.

more girls than boys tbh. in all fortunate to the max. case that all of them grow up,

if we take a specific age group, and there are 2000 people on each age group, a man has to compete with 999 other men in his same age group at the same place for the ability to choose/be the most attractive to 1000 females in his same age group.

if we apply the 0.2% stat here, a little bit on staying fit will put you in top tier of attractiveness.

add intelligence and a high paying job, you beat the rest of 999 people with relative ease.

[a qualification: this is an illustration, not a statistical ranking of attractiveness. gym membership cannot establish fitness, compatibility or anyone’s chances of finding a partner; the percentages here should not be read as measured probabilities.]

you expand your scope to 9 more years younger than you as a man to find a potential female ? you only got 10k people to beat.

still, being wise, a high paying job and a little bit of staying fit puts you in the top bracket of desirable men.

add some gentleman behavior, drop all incel attitude - damn, you would be hunted.

that's why i do repeat. a million more times.

please study when you can. learn and upskill.

earn. focus on your fitness too. but not that this deviates you from the learning. but you get my point.

so, by any chance you see a potentially good looking man who's also very intelligent and is moderately fit, chances are you are having way too many competition. grab him while you can.

the opposite could be said for ladies too. applies vice versa.

but honestly for ladies, there's something called the pretty privilege and it's super real.

more on that later.

the more and more i talk about stats, the more you'll realise that social media is a small circle jerk place where it's too far away from reality.

if you're insecure with what you see in social media, chances are you're being deluded.

real life isn't that great as how they portray in social media.

you're better than 99% of people in real life.

appendix:

would have to add this.

it's not exactly accurate on how stats work. there are a lot in play, exactly culturally when it comes to finding a mate in TN.

plus - big news? people have interests. sometimes they don't like that, they don't like this. people come with all forms of what they believe to be the perfect mate.

add all that up ? the % actually goes down way lower to less than 10 among 1000 on who you'd choose.

get less picky and you'd have more options.

but in all other cases, my suggestion to study, upskill and workout will stand.

some more stats ?

less than 2% of women prefer men shorter than them. (i believe it's less than 2% personally)

most women prefer a minimum of 3 inch height gap

most women wouldn't even go near 5.5ft man in their dreams, preference and stuff. but guess what ? that's the mean normal.

you'd see short men in 5.5-5.8 ft get married all the time (still difficult. often considered last choice)

less than 10% would even be 5.10 to 6 or above that. still 90% of women would want that.

if you're tall, you beat 90% of the population - just like that. just because you're tall.

lol. okay, i need to stop.
