Restored from Instagram posts ·
tbh, ig is one of the best platforms to hire if you're doing it properly. I've talked about this before, here are some suggestions. /1
except my chief of staff and another from the design team who recently joined, everyone in my co. were hired from instagram. every single one.
i ditched naukri/LinkedIn and every other job portal to hire the best people.
few things.
1. i talk mostly through stories. and people who resonate or oppose reply me 1-1 allowing me to have a discussion with them. this allows me to pick brains, know a person for who they are than standard interviews where candidates prepare, are filled with anxiety - won't be able to perform their actual ability and companies won't be able to find the perfect candidate.
1-1 informal communications allow you to know who each are, understand them as a person/human rather than as a resource.
this requires time and the ROI on time spent is amazing.
2. infact my number 02 hire for my design team (he was no. 1 on my choice but joined as no. 2), is a person with whom I've talked with for more than 3+ years before I hired him.
i scoped and scouted each people for the rest of the positions. i know they'd do a great job at it.
so, when I put out hiring notices for relevant positions in my stories, these people if they apply, they get in.
that's why I am able to close hiring positions so fast. max. within a week.
3. since the best people are the ones applying, interviews only need to check for relevant skill level and bamm, they are in.
i repeat. make human connections. talk to people here as if you're talking to a regular person. anon or not. i don't care who they are. i talk with them as a human. you'd be surprised to know how many brilliant people are there hidden among stupid meme accounts and dank meme accounts. they're absolute geniuses who are just spending their time otherwise.
if you are someone who's building a tech team, look around you. they are with you. you just didn't notice them.
