Relationships are choices, not ownership

Restored from Instagram stories ·

there are some options if you’re a third world barbarian. you can either have her imprisoned in her/your home (sorry, forgot women don’t have any property rights that supersedes a man’s) or or construct a facade like structure that covers her head to toe and follows her wherever she goes such that she cannot interact or be seen by anyone outside.

or, we snap back to reality, first world, behave like civilized men and come to few conclusions.

1. if she’s hot, people are gonna find her attractive and by colloquial terms - slide into her dm’s, hit on her, flirt with her and try their chances. the same way you did and courted her. didn’t she become your gf that way?

2. there’s no boundary that you can set or enforce. she’s in full control of her communication, her boundaries, what she wants and what she chooses.

3. if she decides that she doesn’t want you anymore because another person courts her better than you do, it’s her wish to move on from you. or she could cheat on you if she decides to do it without ending terms with you and you decide what to do with the relationship from there on.

//this goes back to my earlier advice that relationships aren’t 100 m sprints that you prep, run and win and celebrate. it’s a marathon you run throughout your life. you gotta keep dating them, keep courting them.

4. if you trust her in the relationship, let her handle this. she knows her boundaries if she has decided to choose you. she can solve her problems. she knows how to handle those people who are on to her.

she’ll come in and rant to you. just listen. do not judge, do not advice, just listen. as much as it itches you to say told you so or offer solutions, don’t do it. she still knows how to solve.

if she wants it to be solved, she’ll let you know. otherwise, step aside, listen and let her handle it.

5. it’s alright to feel jealous or even crash out because you are jealous. just have an understanding that it’s due to jealousy and you can never truly control your s.o because you feel jealous.

but have a relationship where you can talk about that with your gf. it’s purely interpersonal dynamic and safe words that you’ve before you both hurt yourself deeply.

so, i suggest having a conversation without any expectation of it solving whatever problem you’re facing. your only goal on the conversation is to ensure that you’ve communicated what you’re feeling. not find solutions or manipulate/argue to find the means.

let it simmer.

relationships aren’t a puzzle. but only you know your gf. take any online advice with a pinch of salt. nobody knows you guys better than you both do.
