The operations behind an ecommerce business

Restored from Instagram stories ·

as far as India is concerned, ecommerce is yet to proliferate. we only 180 million shoppers. with top 20% of the shoppers contributing to 80% of the revenue that's generated.

Flipkart and Amazon, enjoy 60% of this revenue whereas other marketplace brands try to get a piece of the pie.

the largest individual shareholders of this revenue pie are Direct to Consumer (DTC) brands.

a small business can certainly survive in that space. but what's being catered to that to take it online isn't something that is available in the market right now.

now let's take us for an example.

do you know how many ops-pivot we did to find the solution? we first started as, hey we are competing against you.

then I got a bit more matured in the approach. it's not me competing against another platform brand. that's not solving anything for this space.

this space is undeveloped for more than a decade while growth has increased. after Shopify no one has done anything. dukaan is trying to do something.

we stepped back, closed our direct onboardings. made it close beta, and started inviting people in - as we solved.

each person we onboard, we try to figure what's the best and easiest way to onboard.

do you know how many hassles the RBI has put in place for someone to even sell something online and get a payment gateway to their name?

all the existing big players haven't even got a payment license that the RBI has ordered them to get. their applications are getting rejected and hence zero onboarding.

now we have figured out solutions and we welcome anyone who's serious enough on starting a DTC brand or transitioning their offline store or business to online.

we do the end-to-end transitioning, get you all the payment and shipping gateways you need, and the most important one - we run the marketing efforts for you.

this is what we feel like what can build successful brands.

it's not just giving a platform to someone, collect fees and give them a tutorial. nope, we give them a whole team.

but the problem for small business is still not sorted

what we offered in the beginning was something low cost. costs around $4/mo.

to signify that they need to be a little serious, we expect them to pay atleast for a year. but we found another problem.

these people really want to sell online. but they cannot afford even 3k INR to be spent.

so, see - they are legit small businesses. they are really selling what they produce. they make money. but it's tough for them to put extra cash because whatever money they make goes to settling inventory loans or other things that makes their things operational.

so i really need to give them something which is totally free.

working on solving that. a minimal platform where they've the possibility of selling a physical product for free. think gumroad but for physical products with full payment and shipping integrations.

but in the mean time, if anyone is serious to start a DTC brand, or transition their physical business into an online business and make 10L INR in revenue within the first 12 months fast,

get in touch with me. can make that happen for you.

our average brands crossed their 5L/mo revenue in less than 7 months. it lies in max. coperation with our team.
