nope. i criticise the management whenever a layoff happens. i call it bad CEOing. i have called out excessive hiring during 2020-21 and am just pointing it out again how they are doing it wrongly.
look at some of the companies who recently did layoffs. for one particular co, executive compensation went upto $120 M, whereas they saved $97 M with the layoffs. is that good? nope.
see Shopify for example. profits increased, revenue increased, expense grew only by 4% (doesn't matter when income is increasing) yet they're laying off 20%
super bad. take another example. IBM. firing and claiming that AI can do their work.
i am pissed that they're lying.
they just saw that this is the perfect opportunity that they can layoff people without a huge backlash.
they now have reasons. impending recession fear, bad economy, and the new found AI.
actually, none of them are reasons. they just simple hired too much when they were having 0% interest loans. didn't plan anything properly and now they are figuring out that they can do things with far fewer employees.
now. this layoffs will increase their share price since they add a message that they are concentrating on profitability.
for example Shopify. who is this increase in share price in an already massive co. help? the hedgefunds and the wallet. who push for these and the CEO who all own massive stocks and their wealth is based on that which they leverage for liquid cash.
so if a 100 people company lays of 20%, it's 20 people without jobs.
no. seriously, it's actually 20 families and co-dependants who are getting affected.
these idiots will do all of this shit and will require employees to be loyal. you don't demand loyalty. you earn them.
all such stuff will decrease morale heavily. why? because they don't even know how to do layoffs properly. these doofuses are doing staggered layoffs - over months without announcing who's getting affected.
another stuff. all these startup CEOs owe their massive wealth to their team members who made that possible. cutting them deep is a poor reflection of what they are.
do i love capitalism? absolutely yes.
but at not this cost.
so when you tell me, i enjoy layoffs - i don't.
do i like media companies going bankrupt and their journalists getting laid off? especially the third rate media co's ?
absolutely yes. those are the most vilest scum of planet earth who sow discord and instigate hate among people.
i absolutely love them getting wrecked.
