ok quick updates - TAKE AWAYS
first of all thank you for the early guys who bought the course and gave us valuable insights
we were able to fix a lot of platform issues. it's amazing right now and we'll be able to roll out an android app within 3 days and an apple app within the next 25 days - straight away published to the store.
i learned that i cannot force sequential learning for non-academic non rigorous courses since that would mean i am implying my own will on what they can and what they can't do.
the open ended assignment was great. the instructor passed feedback that he loved some of your essays (he just woke up in nyc lol)
there's an issue with the RBI - which makes most of indian cards unable to pay for international service providers.
it prevents us from using any indian payment gateways since
1. indian payments gateways (most of them) have paused Onboarding new clients and surprisingly it's not a big news
2. we are a US company and no Indian PG can accomodate us. poor sign of tech adoption and our governance which sometimes is a pain in the ass.
-----
this gave us an important lesson when we have 90 cards failing.
so, switch on international payment in your bank app and use visa and mastercard.
moving and breaking things at a faster pace is super essential.
for example, one of you helped us locate a source of a small breach which we are currently fixing.

an important lesson on combating piracy.
if i have to combat piracy completely, i can only do that by restricting the content sharing over web and keeping it purely within apps.
still it won't prevent someone from recording with another device when it's playing, but that has script which display account info so it's easy to trace back and sue.
still anti - piracy is a huge thing and if anyone can work on that and come up with solutions which will enable video distribution - you are tapping into a billion $ market.
while i am happy with the feedback that i was receiving,
I'd love even more when we get to see the feedback that we will receive on the teaching pedagogy and the assessment style.
i think we followed something like an intense version of david Attenborough (definitely exaggerating) when we are teaching the art of story telling to people who are into
- writing
- sales
- administrative duties
- film makers
etc.,
---
this also helped us understand pricing in an Indian market standpoint while we have well researched pricing for our US and other international userbase.
the biggest takeaway that anyone who is working with a product must learn is that,
- take feedback from people who are willing to pay for the same.
there's no feedback as powerful as such.
every word that comes from that feedback is backed by the fact that they paid for it.
no sugar coating words.
when you receive such feedback, immediately spring to action, fix things fast or break it.
your action is the proof that your intent is on solving the problem. the output doesn't matter.
