Playing the hand you were given

Restored from Instagram stories ·

have you ever played uno?

what you were given when the game starts is what you have. good cards or bad cards, that's exactly what you have.

then you start playing with the people you are with. sometimes you draw from the common stack. sometimes you get good cards.

no matter what you draw, the game is to ensure that you make the best of what circumstances give you.

here is one thing you can control. - you can control how to choose to play your cards, which to use and which not to. you can only control that. your actions. not what's given to you.

that's the best anology to what life is. if you are getting busy regretting what life has given you, you aren't playing the game.

however regret your bad choices based on your own actions. learn from them and do it better. you get better at the game when you embrace it.

when you embrace what you have, now you need to make choices.

each choice comes with its own consequence. bad or good. you deal with both. but remember each consequence leads you to the next situation.

and it's on your control until life throws the next thing at you based on what's happening around you.

that's why you never regret. i have stopped regretting.

i always ask, "what's the worse that can happen?" if it's not death, there's nothing for me to lose. you can always figure a solution.

the best way to understand what i have written is to play a game of uno ASAP.

now apply the analogy.
